Buying Women’s Perfume ?

Make A Positive First Impression Using Perfume Or Women’s Perfume

Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives and solvents that give off a pleasant smell. Apropos it is a blend of substances made from a combination of essences, extracts of flowers, plant oils, synthetic materials or other natural sources. Perfumes are being manufactured more and more frequently with synthetic chemicals rather than natural oils.

Perfume is very popular in world culture, so much so that its uses and applications continue to expand. You can spot it everywhere around you, in perfumes, in cosmetics and in household products and today, most perfume is used to scent bar soaps.

Perfume is designed to blend with your natural body odors to create a unique subtle scent that is your signature. It is like an exotic story which weaves the tale of fragrances around our body. Top notes are scents that can be detected immediately after application; they form that critical “first impression”. Some think that, perfume is a way of expressing person’s personality, but ironically, is supposed to make you more appealing.

The best way of choosing a perfume is to spray it onto the inside of the wrist and then rub over the area with the hand in order to raise the temperature. Perfumes that contain quality ingredients are expensive and it is very important that when you wear yours, you feel great. A huge amount of perfume is sold as presents, notably at Christmas, so the sellers have to seek packaging that will look good and appealing as a gift.

Women’s Perfume 6 Fragrance Families

Women’s perfume is a billion dollar business and is a staple in the fragrance industry. The women’s perfume is described as a sparkling woody floral scent and is far too sweet. This is a sure fire gift winner with almost every woman. Women’s perfume is a matter of compatibility, because what one person loves another person hates.

Tip: Several online sites have a wide catalogue of women’s perfumes, so check if women’s perfume is for sale as immediate purchase or as an auction item, and use PayPal for free protection on your purchases.

Buying women’s perfume can be confusing when there are so many different options out there, but if you are overwhelmed by the available choices, a good way to pick women’s perfume is to select a fragrance family that matches your personality. There are different perfumes for different types of women.

Most women’s perfumes fit into one of six fragrance families: fresh, fruity, floral, foody, oriental, or woody (also known as chypre). Most fruity fragrances have citrus notes such as lemon, lime, orange or grapefruit, although apple, grape, cherry, peach and raspberry are also popular choices for fruity women’s perfume. Women who love fruity fragrances are usually outgoing optimists. Floral fragrances are self-explanatory; one or more flowers are the dominant notes in these women’s perfumes, with rose, jasmine, gardenia, and tuberose being the most popular. Floral fragrances are favored by feminine and romantic women. Foody fragrances appeal to women who are nurturing and affectionate. Women who prefer woody scents are likely to be free-spirited and earthy.

The use of women’s perfume still remains the attraction of the opposite sex as romance and seduction will also be the purpose of women in general and of perfumes also. Women’s perfumes are an integral part of the world of women’s fashions.

Mary J Blige New Perfume Late 2009

The hotter-each-minute Mary J Blige is going to have her own fragrance, which currently is being developed with Carols Daughter. Afterall, shes somewhat secretive about the sweet-smelling project. The name of the fragrance just came to me, but I cant tell you, she said.

Unlike the eloquent Halle Berry, Mary J was kinda brief on her reasons for releasing the fragrance: Ive always wanted to do a fragrance because I love when men and women smell good.

Carols Daughter founder, Lisa Price, said the fragrance will be released at the end of next year. Wow, thats quite long. But well wait.

VICTORIA Beckham is trying to persuade pal Katie Holmes to join her in the lucrative celebrity fragrance market with her very own scent.

The former Spice Girl and her husband, soccer star David Beckham, recently launched their new his-and-her fragrance line, Signature.

And Victoria hopes Tom Cruise’s wife will follow suit.

A source says, “Victoria has been very involved in her and David’s fragrance, Signature, and she is keen to extend her work in that field.

“Victoria believes Katie would be an ideal candidate for a personally branded perfume although she understands Tom won’t follow David’s example and do a ‘for him’ version of the scent.”

Kate Moss Talks Possible New Perfume

Kate Moss’ next scent will be inspired by petrol because her daughter loves the smell. The British supermodel - who recently released a new perfume called Velvet Hour - leaves her car door open when topping up her vehicle with fuel because five-year-old Lila Grace loves sniffing the fumes.

Kate, 34, said: “My daughter Lila loves the smell of gasoline - she always says, ‘Mummy, keep the door open,’ when I’m filling up the car. “I’ve heard it is one of the most preferred scents in the world - maybe that’s something to study for my next fragrance!”

The catwalk beauty also revealed her daughter thinks work is abnormal and doesn’t understand her nanny looks after her as a job. She added to Company magazine: “Lila says, ‘Mummy, you’re not normal because you go to work.’ She thinks her nanny is her friend and I’m the only person in the world who works!

She was sad when I told her that I actually pay her nanny Jade to look after her.” Meanwhile, Kate was left distraught when thieves broke into her Range Rover while it was parked outside her North London home.

The model was initially concerned a 200,000 diamond ring had been stolen from the vehicle, but was relieved to discover the only missing items were a 10 note and a box of chocolates.

A source said: “Kate was absolutely distraught when she saw broken glass on the driveway and realised that her car had been broken into. “She wasn’t sure what she’d left on the backseat, then she had a closer look and was thrilled to find just how little was missing. “Unfortunately the criminals are still at large - 10 better off and a little bit chubbier.”

Let’s Talk Burberry Perfumes

How Do You Pick A Perfume ?

If you’re at the fragrance counter, here is the best way to get the most reasonable assessment of a new scent.

Start with a clear nose. If you just smelled another scent or drank some orange juice or were otherwise stimulated in an olfactory way, you need to cleanse. The best way is to sniff at a sachet made of coffee beans, which the nice lady at the perfume counter may be able to provide you with. If not, consider shopping elsewhere or making your own.

If possible, smell the scent in the bottle. (This is not very easy with those spritzer bottles.) Now this is not really what the perfume smells like. Most likely, you’re getting a big whiff of the “top notes.” Top notes tend to fade quickly. Their scent-span is measured in minutes. But they still are the way the perfume will greet you.

Some perfume counters will spray a piece of paper or ribbon and give that to you. This isn’t a bad idea, particularly if you are shopping “wide” and want to try a lot. If possible, jot down the name of the scent on the paper. It all starts to get jumbled quickly if you don’t.

Smell several scents, as many as you can manage (but not more than a dozen) and narrow it down to no more than two that you like.

Next, put some perfume on your skin. How the perfume smells on you is not necessarily the same way it smells in the bottle. The same perfume can work differently on two different people. So you absolutely need a skin test.

Most reasonable people do not test more than two scents on the skin at one time. (Perfumistas are not always reasonable.)

Spray or dab the perfume on your skin. Wait a moment or two and smell. You’re still getting top notes but now it’s top notes plus you.

This is the hard part. It will take a few minutes for the middle notes to emerge. You really can’t judge a perfume until a few minutes have passed. If you can manage, go and do some other shopping and come back for another sniff.

These middle or heart notes are going to be what you’re going to be wearing for an hour or two.Do you like them? They may be similar to the top notes and they ought to be compatible, but don’t expect them to the be same. (Some monolithic scents don’t change, but most fragrances will.)

A few hours later, smell again. These are the base notes. They are the warm undertones that finally emerge at the end. Base notes are often considerably different than top and heart notes.

If you do your due diligence you will probably find some great perfumes.

But what about perfumistas who shop blind (or rather without smelling the product first)? As crazy as this sounds, many perfume lovers do this periodically.

They may rely on the description of the scent, word of mouth, or a general feeling about a line. The results? Mixed! You can’t always pick a winner with that method.

Perfume Classifications

A lot of people have the misconception that perfume is nothing more than perfume. The fact is there are lots of different fragrance perfume varieties available and the quality standards that go into them can vary greatly. Fragrance perfume styles are not one type fits all kind of purchases.

Perfume itself, or parfum, as it’s known in French is the strongest variety of scent available. This is perfume in its purest form and is typically the kind of fragrance that costs a small fortune. Parfum is known for having up to 40 percent pure fragrance oils in its composition.

With this in mind, scents that are true parfums tend to be not only expensive, but also very strong. Most people who purchase this type of perfume use it very sparingly for a reason. The scents of parfums tend to stick with a person for hours and hours on end, which is why it is favored by many despite its higher price.

Eau de parfum is a step down from the stronger parfum variety. These perfumes will contain up to 18 percent fragrance oils. This variety of perfume remains fairly strong and can still be quite costly to purchase. Some of the biggest designer names come in this style, but it’s possible to find some great fragrances at lower prices that fit this composition. It’s a good idea to use this composition sparingly at first to test its actual strength.

Eau de cologne is for men, it’s a fragrance composition that involves about three to five percent fragrance oils. This is the standard for men’s cologne, but aftershaves might use even less oil in their mix.

Eau de toilette is a very common and often affordable type of perfume. Using up to eight percent fragrance oils, this type of perfume is stronger then cologne, but might require a few applications for all-day scent. This fragrance perfume composition is favored by many because it tends to not overpower, no matter the fragrance, and does dissipate faster than stronger mixes.

As the compositions for fragrance perfume styles varies, so too do the different scents. Perfumes can range from heavy musk fragrances to softer, sportier varieties. While there are only three major classifications of perfume scents, there are literally hundreds of different fragrances within these classes. Hitting on the perfect scent for a person will likely take a little time.

Selecting just the right fragrance perfume can be a very personal undertaking. Where one buyer mind find the stronger musk scents in true parfum to die for another might enjoy the wispier, soft fragrances that can be found in lower oil compositions. Inasmuch, it’s not a bad idea to try on different scents for size before buying them.

If a particular scent is liked, but it seems too strong, consider checking to see if it comes in a lower percentage of oil variety. Some of the major brand names offer scents in parfum and even eau de toilette varieties for this reason.

Fragrance perfume choices can be wonderful for helping set a tone about a person. From strong and bold to frilly and feminine, the choices of fragrance perfume styles are many. If one doesn’t fit, it’s likely many others will.

Sex and Perfumes

What attracts you to the opposite sex?

What makes a guy and a girl fall in love?

Is it the way they look?

Things they have in common?

A special connection?

Or is it the way they smell to each other?

Actually, the way you smell plays an important part in the mating game. It is true in the animal world. Like it or not, it is also true among people.

Ever heard about pheromones?

That is the secret of sexual attraction.

In the animal world, pheromones attract member the opposite sex irresistably when the animal is in heat. Think about the female cat who attracts male cats in droves, who fight over her when she is in heat.

Among insects, a starving cockroach on the verge of dying from hunger would rather follow the source of pheromones with the hope of mating, rather than go for the food that would save his life.

Humans are not spared from the effects of pheromones either. That fuzzy feeling a woman gets near the presence of her special guy could well be due to pheromones. Likewise, men are attracted to a woman, by her looks, her personality, and the pheromones she produces.

Everyone has a million apocrine glands whose sole function is to produce a smell. These only become active upon puberty. Upon sexual maturity. A sex scent, if you will.

Did you know that in certain parts of the world, during village dances, girls would hold slices of apple in their armpits while they dance. Then, they would offer the sweat soaked apples to the guys they fancy.

Perfumes as we know them were first used by Egyptians to embalm the dead bodies of mummies. Later, perfumes were used before sex. To get both parties in a more romantic mood.

Jasmine, patchouli, sandalwood, rose, ylang ylang and a number of other aromatherapy oils used in perfumery are known for their aphrodisiac properties.

I remember reading an amusing incident about a guy who used sandalwood as a sore throat remedy. It has an interesting side effect. It increased his libido significantly. That means sandalwood perfumes do make you sexier.

Patchouli has a sweet, very strong, musky scent that is considered very sexy. On its own, it is the kind of scent you either love or hate, as it can be overpowering, but when blended into a perfume with other notes, it gives the perfume a sexier feel.

Ylang ylang has a strong, womanly scent. Ylang ylang can be overpowering but when used lightly or in blends, it is said to put one in a romantic mood. Ylang ylang perfumes are ideal for that romantic night out.

Jasmine perfume has a very sensual fragrance. Jasmine essential oil itself exerts an effect on a female hormones. It is used in aromatherapy to balance hormones and to boost confidence. Jasmine is popular in perfumes as it has a strong erogenous effect on people.

Then there is musk which on its own, is a potent masculine scent. With other scents, it might be barely detectable yet it gives the perfume bouquet an air of mystery. Even the lightest, most flowery perfumes contain a trace of musk.

Perfumes are often used like pheromones, for that aphrodisiac effect. Look at all the perfume ads. They usually center around romance, or seduction.

Going a step further, perfumes, also make you feel good about yourself. Many women buy perfumes for the sheer beauty of the fragrances. Perfumes can make you smell wonderful. They can make your shower a luxurious experience. You set out to face the world, knowing you smell simply fabulous and that gives you that confidence which is really sexy.
